Back in 2017, Selkirk introduced the first pickleball paddle to enable both power and control. The hybrid innovation, known as AMPED, quickly became a favorite among pickleball players nationwide who had previously had to choose between either a power paddle or a control paddle.

AMPED was the industry's first thick core innovation, coming in at 5/8” when all other paddles were 1/2” or less, and the first paddle to have power and control in one paddle. The original AMPED series delivered the power necessary to put away shots, alongside the control needed to dominate at the net, and, in doing so, forever changed the landscape of the sport.

In 2023, Selkirk Labs unveiled Project 005, a paddle that sought to combine what players love most about the VANGUARD Power Air and the Labs Project 003, delivering an iteration of what the future of a balanced power and control paddle could be, in an edgeless, open throat package. Following the launch of the 005, we took player feedback into great consideration and completely overhauled the paddle to improve it from all angles to deliver the AMPED Pro Air.

Fast forward to today: the AMPED Pro Air delivers a paddle that strikes a happy medium between power and control, giving players the familiar feel of an all-court paddle, while incorporating next-level technology to enhance power on groundstrokes, serves, and put-away volleys.

The next AMPED Pro Air is designed for those who refuse to compromise on their game.

Welcome to the next era of AMPED.

What’s New?

The Selkirk AMPED Pro Air introduced several technological enhancements when compared to the previous Selkirk AMPED, including:

• A New Face: Marking a milestone in performance technology and a new benchmark for the industry, the AMPED Pro Air’s FiberFlex+ Fiberglass Face provides an ideal balance of power and consistency.
• An Improved Core: Taking a progressive leap from the original X5 Core, the AMPED Pro Air’s Honeycomb 16mm Core offers next-level control, power, and sweet spot reliability.
• An Upgraded Design: Incorporating advanced, proprietary design features, the AMPED Pro Air achieves enhanced power, precision, aerodynamics, and ball control.
• An Improved Grip: Designed to enhance player control and court agility, the octagonal grip on the AMPED Pro Air offers comfort while elevating shot precision and responsiveness.
• An Enhanced Texture: Originally developed in Selkirk Labs, the AMPED Pro Air uses the ProSpin+ Texture for a more durable spin surface that offers incredible consistency and precision in shaping the ball.

The AMPED Pro Air is the pickleball paddle for players who refuse to compromise on their game.

Crafted to deliver balanced power and control in one uncompromising paddle, the AMPED Pro Air offers the smooth, familiar feel of an all-court paddle, alongside the next-level technology necessary to dominate on the court.

Easy to maneuver in the transition zone and boasting a manageable weight during intense rallies, the AMPED Pro Air provides solid power and good touch for resets, catering to both power players and those who appreciate finesse. The blend of power and control makes it suitable for competitive play, offering players the edge they need to dominate the game.

The Selkirk AMPED Pro Air is the paddle for players who want it all—and then some.

Air Dynamic Throat for Quicker Swing Speed

Crafted and refined in Selkirk Labs, the large Air Dynamic Throat is close to the handle, offering optimal air flow and elevated ball control, for maximum flex and quicker swing speeds.

ThroatFlex for Enhanced Power and Dwell Time

Designed to provide maximum flex upon ball impact, ThroatFlex open-throat design extends the dwell time on the paddle and enhances power play, ensuring unmatched consistency.

ProSpin+ NextGen Micro Texture

The refined ProSpin+ NextGen Micro Texture technology developed in Selkirk Labs provides a more durable spin surface, ensuring unparalleled consistency and precision in shaping and controlling the ball.

Upgraded Octagonal Grip

Designed to enhance control, the upgraded Octagonal Grip offers you greater maneuverability and shot accuracy on the court.

360° Proto Molding for Power and Consistent Sweet Spot

Aero-DuraEdge Edgeless Technology for Increased Durability and Aerodynamics

Introduced to enhance the durability of the edge in tandem with the FlexFoam edge perimeter, Aero-DuraEdge Edgeless technology comprises our specialized, impact-resistant blend of composites and polymers.

Durable FlexFoam Perimeter for Power and a Larger Sweet Spot

By injecting specially formulated foam into the entire perimeter of the paddle, our FlexFoam Perimeter technology increases durability, adds weight, expands the sweet spot, and absorbs vibrations, ensuring a stable and reliable feel. This technology was first developed in Selkirk Labs.

Product Features

T700-Grade Raw Carbon Fiber Face for Stiffness and Performance Versatility.

Adds velocity to hard hits so you can win with power, while still maintaining touch for softer shots.

Rev-Pro Polymer Honeycomb Core for a Dynamic Balance of Power and Control.

Designed to meet your game where you’re at — whether you need to accurately place a shot or finish with power. This polypropylene honeycomb core has a comfortable and forgiving feel to it.

MOI Tuning System for Maximum Sweet Spot and Balance, Right Out of the Box.

The MOI Tuning System is an overall design approach that includes a semi-permanent perimeter weighting solution that balances mass distribution with precision-engineered medallion weights on the edge guard. By putting the weight exactly where we want it — shifting mass toward the outer regions of the paddle and increasing the moment of inertia — it stabilizes the paddle during off-center hits. The result is clear: a larger and more forgiving sweet spot to help you get more balls over the net. The balanced weight distribution means your paddle won’t feel too top-heavy or too light — giving you better control and comfort during play.

*The MOI Tuning System is semi-permanent and comes pre-installed for optimal performance. Note: Removing could potentially cause damage to MOI parts.

Raw Spin Technology Surface for Enhanced Spin.

Our Raw Spin Technology is a raw, textured surface designed to enhance spin and improve ball control.
